Painting in Sunshine & the West
Out through Sunshine, Braybrook, Footscray and toward Werribee, the stock is mostly post-war weatherboard and solid brick, and a big share of it is investor-owned. That shapes the work: a lot of our jobs here are turnarounds where the tenant is out Friday and the next one is in a week later.
We quote those fast and we hold the date, because in a turnaround a two-day overrun costs the owner a week's rent, not a weekend. Low-odour systems mean a repainted unit is ready to show almost straight away.
On owner-occupied homes it is usually weatherboard exteriors - puttying, replacing the boards that have gone, and a full exterior system that will hold up on a west-facing wall.
